The recessed end walls provide excellent handholds for lifting and the long 11/2" (3.8cm) 
lugs on the top bars allow for easy manipulation of the colony. The square 181/8" (46cm) construction means the hive can be worked either parallel to the entrance or at right angles to it as desired.
