Uncapping Equipment

The first step in processing your honey is removal of the cappings. The bees seal the cells of honey with an airtight wax cap to prevent the honey from absorbing moisture. These caps must be removed so the honey can escape the cells during extraction. Use an uncapping knife or fork and uncapping trays to get started.
